Getting Hotter in Madrid!

Might as well take advantage of the heat! (Photo c/o Sohyun)
I'm dying in my room~ It's so hot! And I was told we weren't even close to experiencing the worst of things. Earlier this morning, the temperature was at 33 degrees. Sometime in the afternoon, it rose up to 37! I heard that in a month from now, temperatures will rise up to above 40! Seriously?! That said, I thought it would be a good opportunity to make use of the heat and dry some of my clothes. I think compared to the last time, the job got done in half the time.

Despite the efficiency of doing things, I think I would need to pay our local clothing stores for a change of clothes. I think I need something lighter for this weather. Summer has indeed come and I could see it in the change of fashion-sense in my classmates (And oh! I need shorts too! I don't have enough~ as it seems!)! Likewise, I've been hearing stories of cockroaches, moths and flies entering people's rooms. I suppose nature has invited all sorts of insects to thrive and feast on this heat-y environment!

Good 'ol VIPS is around to save my day!
I spent a good deal of my time at home... trying to cool down. I totally missed lunch because it was too hot to move (lol). Sometime around 4pm, I figured that it would be in my best interest to eat something. But being hungry on a Sunday in Salamanca~ where can one go?

Only one reliable place you can count on~ VIPS.

And so there I went. Interestingly enough, even at 4pm VIPS had people eating there. VIPS is a restaurant chain in Madrid that serves a whole range of food. It reminds me of Pancake House in the Philippines... or Swensen's in Singapore. Strangely enough, despite wanting to escape the heat outside by entering this air-conditioned establishment, I ordered something hot.

What can I say~ screw the heat. I wanted something that was deliciously hot: BUFFALO WINGS!
I had a craving for chicken for lunch. My original choice was actually KFC. But the nearest KFC I knew of was all the way in Gran Via. No way am I going all the way there~ fortunately, VIPS had hot buffalo chicken wings. I was so happy with my choice!

Somehow, I have this feeling that this week is chicken week. I dunno~ maybe it's just the heat that's making me think this way. Anyway, gotta grab some sleep. Classes tomorrow (ooops! Classes start at 11am~ so technically I do still have time)!
